San Tan Charter's run to the championship in the American Division of the 2023 Border League came to an end Saturday after a 57-42 loss to Rosemary Anderson Prep (Oregon) on Saturday afternoon. The Roadrunners will conclude the event on Sunday, 12:15 PM at the Las Vegas Basketball Center against the Mater East Knights.

Rosemary Prep, in its first year as a Prep School, presented a veteran roster and asserted its defensive physicality early in the game. San Tan battled early before the Prospects were able to extend a 14-12 lead midway through the first half into a 32-20 halftime lead. The Roadrunners were able to generate open looks on offense but were unable to find the basket from behind the three-point-line as they tried to jump-start the offense.

The 12-point halftime deficit was extended early in the second half as Rosemary Anderson went on a 10-0 run to extend the lead to 42-20. The Roadrunner offense got going with solid execution in the half-court and the team was able to cut the deficit to 11 later in the half, but the size and physicality of the Prospects allowed them to make enough plays to hold off a San Tan rally on their way to the 57-42 victory.

San Tan will finish the weekend with one game on Sunday, 12:15 PM at the Las Vegas Basketball Center (Court 1) against Mater East. All games are streamed on BallerTV, or you can follow us on Instagram @stcs_hoops for alternate streaming options.
