Junior Zaire Richardson and Freshman Peyton Lubash led all scorers with 17 points, and freshman Jase Benjamin also added 13 as the San Tan Charter Roadrunners defeated Arete Prep 80-39 on Saturday to win the 2A Valley Region Championship at San Carlos High School. Sophomore Will Gordon (11) and junior Kylen Bonner (10) also scored in double-digits for the Roadrunners, who brought home the region championship for the second consecutive year. The Roadrunners advance to the 2A State Tournament as the likely #1 seed for the second year in a row. The bracket will be announced next Saturday, Feb. 10 with first round action beginning Friday, February 16 in Prescott, Arizona.
